Solomon

Study Length: 5 weeks

Why do we drift away from God in the good times? Let’s find out from the wise but foolish King Solomon.

1 Kings 3-11 records his reign during Israel’s greatest days. We see how he mismanaged God’s gifts. He misused wisdom, love, power and prosperity. He clung to pleasure and popularity. He loved good things above God.

Do life’s pressures or pleasures distract you from God?

Solomon loved God, but sin misled him. He moved away from God’s wisdom, truth and justice. Yet, God remained faithful to this great – and greatly flawed – king.

This 5-week study offers the wisdom we need. We see how to seek God first and fulfill our responsibilities to others. We discover ways we also misuse God’s gifts to make ourselves look good or feel happy.

Let’s learn from Solomon how good times are meant to draw us closer to the greatest gift of all – Jesus Christ.
