Sermon on the Mount

Study Length: 4 weeks

How do you define happiness? What makes your life meaningful? How do you measure success?

In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus answers some of life’s biggest questions. He challenges His listeners to shift their perspectives, turning their views of happiness, performance, motives, and wisdom upside down.

In this four-week course, you will discover that God transforms His followers from the inside out. Jesus contrasts who we are with whom we are becoming. And in Him, we become righteous before God.

In Matthew 5:1-16, Jesus describes the blessings of a God-given identity. In Christ, we discover a joy that lasts beyond money, success, family, and friends.

But how do we find that identity? Matthew 5:17-48 describes the perfect standard God requires. We fall helplessly short, but Jesus offers hope! He meets the standard on our behalf. All who identify with Him receive right standing before God.

How do I know if my identity is in Christ? In Matthew 6, Jesus puts us to the test. What do we seek? What do we cling to? What we treasure measures our motives and reveals our deepest heart desires.

In our final week of study, Matthew 7 uncovers the blessings of godly wisdom. Jesus reveals how His followers should live, judge, pray, interact, and operate in this world.

Through the Sermon on the Mount, you will explore the life-changing power of an identity centered on Christ.

How will God transform you through this timeless teaching?
